Real Unión scored two late goals to complete a comeback victory, defeating Herbania 2-1 after trailing for much of the match.
Real Unión scored two late goals to come from behind and beat Herbania 2-1. Herbania, from Fuerteventura, took an early lead in a first half that saw chances for both teams. Real Unión, the Tenerife side, improved towards halftime but found Herbania's goalkeeper, Tony, in excellent form. However, Tony couldn't stop Real Unión's two quick goals in the closing minutes.
Javi Yanes of Real Unión hit the crossbar with a powerful shot from outside the box, signaling an early threat. But it was Herbania who scored first, just eight minutes in. A long pass from Amine found Dani on the right wing, who then set up Aythami for a close-range finish.
Real Unión had chances too. In the 20th minute, Ebrima won the ball near Herbania's box, forcing goalkeeper Yan Carlos into a low save for a corner. From the resulting corner, Yared almost scored directly, hitting the crossbar. The game became an end-to-end affair. Andriu headed a wide free-kick from Vitolo against the crossbar for Real Unión, while Herbania's Dani missed a one-on-one chance, shooting wide.
As halftime approached, Real Unión grew more comfortable, but Herbania's goalkeeper, Tony, was in inspired form. He made a crucial save when a defender accidentally deflected a cross towards his own goal.
After the break, Herbania adopted a more defensive approach, trying to protect their lead against a more attacking Real Unión side. Just three minutes later, Real Unión completed their comeback. From a wide free-kick, the defense failed to clear the ball, and Javi Yanes pounced on the loose ball in the box to score. Now trailing, Herbania pushed forward desperately but struggled to create chances against Real Unión. In stoppage time, Nico almost added a third for Real Unión, but his shot hit the post, and the match ended 2-1.
