Real Unión has secured promotion to the Primera Federación after a dominant season, marking the first time two Canarian teams will compete in Spain's second tier of women's football.

Canarian women’s football will reach a historic milestone next season, with two teams competing in the Primera Federación for the first time. Real Unión has officially secured promotion to the second tier of national football following a dominant season in Group 2 of the Segunda RFEF, joining Tenerife B in the division.

The team, managed by Robert Hernández, clinched the title at the La Salud pitch with a commanding 9-2 victory over Futbolellas. This win placed them at the top of the table, three points ahead of runners-up Ona San Adriá, who must now enter the promotion playoffs. Real Unión’s season was outstanding, finishing with 18 wins, six draws, and only two losses—a run that included an impressive 17-game unbeaten streak to close out the campaign.

The club’s success is the result of steady growth. After finishing fourth in the 2023/2024 season and third the following year, the team took the lead in February and maintained a level of consistency their rivals could not match.

Forward Gara was a standout performer throughout the season. After joining the club last summer, she finished as the league’s top scorer with 17 goals, including six in the final match against Futbolellas. Her efforts, supported by teammates like Benchara, Nerea Sánchez, and María Ramos, powered an offense that proved far more efficient than the rest of the league.

This promotion rewards the stability of Real Unión and strengthens the Canary Islands' presence in national women’s football. Under the leadership of Robert Hernández, the squad’s ability to handle the pressures of a demanding season has successfully propelled the club into the Primera Federación, where they will now look to establish themselves at a higher level.
