Quirónsalud Tenerife Hospital has been named the best private hospital in the Canary Islands for the sixth consecutive year by the IEH 2025, also ranking as the second-best overall in the region.

Quirónsalud Tenerife Hospital has been named the best private hospital in the Canary Islands for the sixth year in a row. This recognition comes from the Hospital Excellence Index (IEH) 2025. Overall, it's the second-best hospital in the region, just behind Hospital Universitario de La Candelaria.

This award solidifies Quirónsalud Tenerife's reputation as a top private healthcare provider in the Canary Islands. It highlights the hospital's ongoing dedication to high-quality care, new technology, efficient management, and focusing on patients.

The Hospital Excellence Index (IEH) aims to celebrate hospitals that show excellence, innovation, and contribute to public well-being, reinforcing healthcare's vital role in society. The rankings are based on 2,300 surveys. These surveys are completed by healthcare professionals and industry leaders who rate hospitals on things like care quality, medical reputation, new technology, efficient operations, patient experience, digital services, sustainability, and how well they attract and keep staff.

Each year, the IEH, with its national and regional versions, becomes a more established way to measure hospital excellence across Spain, looking at both public and private facilities. The index shows how strong Spain's healthcare system is, thanks to highly skilled professionals (who are recognized across Europe) and ongoing investments in modern facilities and technology. These investments are crucial for driving new care methods and providing safe, personalized, and high-quality healthcare.

Quirónsalud in the Canary Islands

In the Canary Islands, Quirónsalud runs three hospitals: one in Tenerife, one in Costa Adeje, and another in La Orotava. They also have nine medical centers spread across the island in areas like Tenerife, Candelaria, Los Cristianos, La Laguna, Realejos, Icod, Puerto de La Cruz, Santa Úrsula, and Tejina.

Quirónsalud is Spain's top healthcare group. When combined with its parent company, Fresenius-Helios, it's also the largest in Europe. Beyond Spain, Quirónsalud also operates in Latin America. The group employs over 50,000 professionals across more than 180 healthcare centers, including 59 hospitals with over 8,000 beds. They use the latest technology and have a large team of highly skilled, internationally respected experts. Some of their notable centers include Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz, Centro Médico Teknon, Ruber Internacional, Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid, Hospital Quirónsalud Barcelona, Hospital Universitario Dexeus, Policlínica Gipuzkoa, Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya, and Hospital Quirónsalud Sagrado Corazón.

The Quirónsalud Group actively supports education (ten of its hospitals are university teaching hospitals) and medical research. They have their own research arm, the FJD Health Research Institute, which is recognized by Spain's Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Their healthcare services are structured into specialized units and networks. This setup helps them share knowledge and apply research findings across their various centers. Quirónsalud is currently involved in many research projects across Spain. Many of its hospitals are leaders in cutting-edge research, pioneering advancements in fields like oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, gynecology, and neurology.
