Quevedo Makes History by Sweeping Entire Spanish Top Ten Singles Chart
Spanish artist Quevedo has made history by occupying all ten spots on the latest Promusicae singles chart, while his new album El baifo simultaneously debuted at number one.
The Spanish music industry has seen a historic shift in the latest Promusicae charts. Data from the week of April 24 to 30 shows that the artist Quevedo has achieved a rare feat: occupying every single spot in the top ten singles chart. This total dominance highlights the massive popularity of his new album, El baifo.
La graciosa, his collaboration with Elvis Crespo, currently holds the number one spot. It is followed by Al golpito (with Nueva Línea) and Caprichoso. The rest of the top ten is rounded out by El baifo, Algo va a pasar (featuring La Pantera, Lucho RK, and Juseph), Scandic, Gáldar, Ni borracho, 2010ypico, and Está en casa.
While Quevedo dominates the singles, the album charts show more variety. El baifo has debuted at number one in both sales and streaming. Omar Courtz’s Por si mañana no estoy follows in second place, with Fangoria’s La verdad o la imaginación in third. Notably, Fangoria leads the vinyl sales chart, followed by Rosalía’s Lux and Bunbury’s De un siglo anterior.
The overall album rankings also feature Rosalía’s Lux in fourth place, followed by Bad Bunny’s Debí tirar más fotos, Bad Gyal’s Más cara, BTS’s Arirang, Karol’s Tropicoqueta, Bunbury’s De un siglo anterior, and the debut of Argentine artist Trueno with Turr4zo.
International releases also made an impact, with Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide entering at thirteenth, followed by the Michael film soundtrack and the Foo Fighters' Your Favourite Toy at nineteenth. These charts illustrate a Spanish music scene where massive urban hits thrive alongside a loyal physical market, particularly with vinyl remaining a key indicator of an artist's lasting influence.
