Quevedo Honors Canarian Roots in Upcoming Third Album 'El Baifo'
Quevedo is set to release his third studio album, El Baifo, a 14-track project that celebrates his Canarian heritage through collaborations with local artists and traditional musical influences.
Quevedo is putting his Canarian roots at the heart of his third studio album, El Baifo. The Gran Canarian artist has just revealed the 14-track list for the project, which is set to drop on streaming platforms later this week.
The album is deeply connected to the Canary Islands. This is best shown by the final track, "Hijo de volcán," which features the legendary folk group Los Gofiones. This focus on local culture has been a theme throughout his promotional campaign, which included drone displays of the Roque Nublo and the Canarian pintadera over Las Canteras beach, as well as banners in Madrid explaining the local meaning behind the album’s title.
The tracklist features a diverse range of collaborations. Elvis Crespo and Tonny Tun Tun join Quevedo on "Gáldar," while the group Nueva Línea appears on "Al golpito." The song "Algo va a pasar" brings together La Pantera, Lucho RK, and Juseph. Fans will also recognize previously released singles like "Ni borracho" and "Scandic."
This release marks the end of a period of media silence, which Quevedo used to build anticipation through creative marketing stunts, such as filming in locations like El Porís de Candelaria in La Palma. By blending modern sounds with traditional music, Quevedo continues to prove he can balance massive commercial success with a proud celebration of his heritage.
