Quevedo dominated Spain’s summer 2026 music charts as urban tracks blending traditional Caribbean rhythms with modern production continued to define the national sound.

Urban music continued its dominance of the Spanish music scene in the summer of 2026. According to Spotify, the country’s sound is evolving through a blend of styles, with tropical rhythms like merengue and bachata merging with reggaeton to create a sound that now rules both the charts and the dance floor.

The standout star of the season was Gran Canarian artist Quevedo, who placed three songs in the summer’s top ten. His track "La Graciosa," a collaboration with Elvis Crespo, took the top spot with over 148 million streams. It also won a popular user poll conducted throughout June and July.

The song’s success moved beyond streaming platforms, becoming a cultural anthem after it was featured in the Spanish national football team's World Cup celebrations. Quevedo’s influence remained strong throughout the summer, with "Al Golpito" (featuring Nueva Línea) taking second place and "El Baifo" landing in eighth. He also appeared at number twenty with "Yo y Tú," alongside Beéle and Ovy On The Drums.

Rounding out the top five were Jhay Wheeler and Omar Courtz’s "De Lejitos Remix" in third, Aitana’s "Superestrella" in fourth, and the collaboration between Shakira and Burna Boy, "Dai Dai," in fifth. Darío Manrique, Spotify’s head of editorial in Spain, notes that this trend of mixing Caribbean genres with urban production is helping local artists stay ahead of international competition.

The rankings highlight the strength of the local industry, with artists like Lola Indigo, Ana Mena, and Rels B remaining fan favorites. Overall, the 2026 data shows a maturing Spanish market, where the ability to blend traditional rhythms with modern beats has become the key to reaching a mass audience.
