Queen Sofía will attend a charity concert in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on October 30 to support the Spanish Federation of Food Banks' efforts in combating food insecurity.

The Spanish Federation of Food Banks (Fesbal) will take center stage on October 30, when the CajaCanarias Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation host a charity concert in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Queen Sofía will attend the event, highlighting the vital role Fesbal has played since 1995 in fighting food insecurity and reducing waste across Spain.

The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space. All proceeds will support food banks nationwide, with a specific focus on the provinces of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas. The evening will feature performances by Domingo el Colorao, Fabiola Socas, and Juan Carlos Pérez Brito. Due to security protocols for the Royal Household, attendees are asked to arrive at Plaza del Patriotismo, 1, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Tickets are available online, and those unable to attend can contribute via a "Row 0" donation account (IBAN: ES48-2100-1766-4302-0027-2506). The event will include remarks from the leaders of the Canary Island food banks, Fesbal president Pedro Miguel Llorca Llinares, and CajaCanarias Foundation president Humberto Orán Cury.

This concert is part of a busy weekend of cultural events organized by the CajaCanarias Foundation, which also includes the play El invencible verano de Liliana starring Cecilia Suárez, a French lyric recital in Garachico, and an appearance by artist Sara Socas at the Urban Art Days in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

The event underscores the importance of Fesbal’s mission. As an independent, non-denominational organization, Fesbal recovers surplus food to help vulnerable families, combining social support with environmental sustainability by ensuring perfectly good food does not go to waste.
