Canary Islands band Pumuky has made a critically acclaimed comeback after a decade with their fifth album, "No sueltes lo efímero," recognized on "Best of the Year" lists, and will tour Andalusia at the end of January.

After a decade without releasing a full album, Pumuky has made a successful comeback. Their fifth record, "No sueltes lo efímero" (Don't Let Go of the Ephemeral), finished the year recognized as one of the standout works in Spanish independent music, earning high praise from critics.

Top music magazines like Rockdelux, MondoSonoro, Muzikalia, Hipersónica, and CrazyMinds, among others, have featured the album on their "Best of the Year" lists. This confirms that the band from the Canary Islands remains one of the most unique and respected acts in music today.

To celebrate this success, the band will soon be performing live. Their tour continues with a trip through Andalusia, stopping at Sala Hangar in Córdoba on January 29th, Sala X in Seville on the 30th, and finishing at the famous Planta Baja in Granada on the 31st.

Pumuky is made up of brothers Jaír and Noé Ramírez, who hail from Icod de los Vinos (Tenerife), along with Mariano Gracia and Albert Morales. With over two decades in music, the band's discography includes albums like "El bosque en llamas" (2009) and "Justicia Poética" (2015).

"No sueltes lo efímero" is their first full album in a decade. It was recorded at Estudios La Mina (Granada) with producer Raúl Pérez, a highly respected figure in Spanish music, and mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri. On this album, Pumuky returns to their signature sound: intense and emotional slowcore, featuring controlled build-ups, heartfelt lyrics, and moods that shift between harsh shoegaze and delicate dream pop.

Before this album, the band stayed active with releases like the EP "Castillo Interior" (Keroxen, 2020), which Bandcamp called 'intricately hypnotic.' This EP was later remixed by artists including Xiu Xiu, Dntel (Jimmy Tamborello), and David Cordero. They also teamed up with Elinor Almenara (VVV [Trippin’you]) for the single "Metahackeo" in 2022.

Known for their strong live shows, Pumuky has played at famous stages and festivals like Primavera Sound, Womad, and Festival NRMAL (Mexico). They have also toured extensively across Europe and Latin America. They plan to continue promoting their new album in different cities over the next few months.
