Puerto de la Cruz Launches €586,000 Road and Pavement Improvement Project
The Puerto de la Cruz City Council has launched a €586,000 tender to upgrade road infrastructure and pavements across eight key areas to enhance traffic safety and pedestrian accessibility.
The Puerto de la Cruz local council has officially put out a tender for a €586,000 project to repair pavements and upgrade road infrastructure. This investment will cover improvements in eight key areas: Avenida Venezuela, the streets of Malteveo, Lía Tavío, Rafael Folch, Las Tapias, and Platanera, as well as Camino Carril.
Once the contract is awarded, the work is expected to be completed within 60 days. The project aims to do more than just resurface roads; it is designed to improve traffic safety and pedestrian access, both of which are vital for a town with high residential, commercial, and tourist activity.
This initiative is part of an ongoing maintenance strategy that has seen improvements to over 50 roads since 2019. The council continues to prioritize these paving plans to combat the wear and tear caused by heavy road use, as well as the unique challenges posed by the local terrain and climate. Through this new tender, the City Council hopes to continue modernizing local infrastructure, reducing traffic issues, and improving the quality of public spaces for both residents and visitors.
