Puerto de la Cruz is hosting an exhibition at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex through July 19, showcasing sustainable collections from the winners of the 15th annual island-wide young designers competition.

A new generation of designers is taking center stage in Puerto de la Cruz. As part of the "Tabaiba Sustainable Fashion" festival, the Lido Hall at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex is currently hosting an exhibition featuring the winners of the 15th annual island-wide young designers competition.

The exhibition is open to the public until July 19. Visitors can view the work Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This event highlights a broader effort to modernize the Canary Islands' textile industry by focusing on sustainability and craftsmanship. Efraín Medina, the island’s head of Employment, Education, and Youth, emphasized that these platforms are vital for helping new brands succeed while meeting the growing demand for environmentally responsible fashion.

The exhibition features two award-winning projects:

  • Studio Hidalgo: Designer Yeremay Hidalgo presents Lágrimas de sal (Salt Tears), a conceptual collection inspired by the rural Spain of Federico García Lorca, exploring themes of personal growth and resilience.
  • Dlarosa Studio: Led by Noé González de la Rosa, the brand showcases Archive 00, a collection defined by industrial textures and metallic elements that reflect on energy and physical transformation.

By hosting this exhibition, Puerto de la Cruz continues to establish itself as a cultural hub where fashion, heritage, and the arts intersect. The Tabaiba festival serves as a key forum for discussing the future of the industry, championing craftsmanship as a way to balance business success with social and environmental responsibility.
