Puerto de la Cruz is preparing for the summer carnival "Long live Mexico!"

Puerto de la Cruz is preparing for a vibrant celebration – the summer carnival! From September 19th to 21st, the city will transform into an epicenter of fun. This year, the carnival will be held under the slogan "Long live Mexico!", promising lots of color, joy, and freedom.

The main events will unfold on the territory of the Costa Martiánez tourist complex and Playa Jardín beach. Gala concerts, festivals, musician performances, and bright street parades await you. The organizers want this carnival to become one of the main events in the festive calendar of the Canary Islands.

For three days in a row, Puerto de la Cruz will be filled with music, dances, and various entertainments. The program includes performances by orchestras, DJs, drag artists, batucadas (Brazilian drummers), and dance groups. There is entertainment for everyone!

On Friday, the Transgresora gala concert will take place in the Costa Martiánez tourist complex. The show will be directed by the famous choreographer Wycho Torres, and popular drag artists from all over the archipelago will take to the stage.

On Saturday, the Diversas festival will begin, hosted by drag artist Marcela Kaufmann and Iván Padrón. And in the evening, a fiery La Gran Pachanga del Carnaval party awaits you with the bands Ni un pelo de Tonto, Boys Machine, and DJ Ubay Hernández.

On Sunday, September 21, the summer carnival will end with a big celebration on Playa Jardín beach. The Gran Parranda y Coso will take place here from 12:00 – a parade in which groups from the carnivals of Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the island of La Palma will participate. Local dance groups will also perform.

The music will play until 20:00. DJs Luis de León, Alex Navarro, Laurentini, Dassierl, guitarist Gabo Siverio, and Orquesta Swing Latino will appear on stage. It will be a bright end to the summer, full of carnival joy!

"Puerto de la Cruz is once again showing that it is an open and vibrant city that honors its traditions and values of freedom, diversity, and equality," said the city's mayor, Leopoldo Afonso. He added that this summer carnival is a celebration that emphasizes the city's uniqueness as a tourist center.

The Councilor for Celebrations, Luis Javier González, noted that the summer carnival has already become a tradition that unites the talents of local artists and artists from the Canary Islands. He also emphasized the importance of the LGBTI+ community as an integral part of the city's carnival spirit. "This is a celebration that can be enjoyed without restrictions, with the respect and joy that the end of summer deserves," he added.
