Poster Listing Femicide Victims Sabotaged at ULL
The University of La Laguna condemned the sabotage of a poster on its Guajara campus listing the names of 30 women killed by their partners or ex-partners in Spain this year, asserting that such acts will only strengthen their fight against gender violence.
The University of La Laguna announced on Wednesday that a poster on its Guajara campus had been sabotaged. The poster listed the names of the 30 women killed by their partners or ex-partners in Spain so far this year.
Students and professors from the Faculty of Psychology created the poster, which will be put back up in the Guajara lecture hall next Tuesday, December 2nd.
The ULL stated in a social media message that "breaking a poster does not make the reality of gender-based violence disappear."
In the same message, the university condemned this act of sabotage, adding that "acts like this only lead us to continue fighting with even greater strength, if possible, against this social scourge."
