Police officers at Tenerife South Airport swiftly intervened to prevent a disoriented Polish tourist from jumping off a jet bridge after encountering issues with her travel documents.

On Monday, November 11th, police officers at Tenerife South Airport stopped a 50-year-old Polish woman from jumping from a jet bridge.

Sources say the woman, who was a tourist, seemed confused and didn't have the correct documents when she tried to get on a flight to Lanzarote.

The incident happened close to the airport's police station. Officers saw the danger and acted quickly.

The woman walked onto a jet bridge, which is about ten meters high, and approached the railing as if to jump. Police officers managed to grab her and pull her back to safety, preventing a tragedy.

The police's fast and coordinated response was crucial in keeping the woman safe.

Earlier, airport security had told the woman she needed to go to the National Police station because of a problem with her documents.

At the station, officers explained that she needed to contact the Polish consulate to get a new passport or ID so she could travel.

Soon after leaving the police area, she went to the jet bridge and tried to jump, but officers intervened immediately and stopped her.

After being rescued, the woman was treated by airport medical staff. She was then taken to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for evaluation and psychological support.

Tenerife South Airport, which is run by Aena, followed its standard emergency procedures for this situation.

The response involved the National Police, airport medical teams, and private security staff working together.

The National Police are still investigating the incident to understand exactly what happened and why the woman attempted to harm herself.

Currently, it appears she was disoriented and distressed, which may have led to her actions.
