Spanish Civil Guard officers have dismantled a criminal group in southern Tenerife following the arrest of two individuals linked to a series of violent armed robberies and vehicle thefts.

Police have dismantled a criminal group in southern Tenerife, ending a wave of crime that had unsettled local residents. The Civil Guard’s operation, codenamed "Classic-Tf," resulted in the arrest of two people from Güímar, who now face charges related to property theft and road safety violations.

The investigation, which began in March, linked the pair to four violent robberies and the theft of five vehicles. Investigators from Granadilla de Abona discovered that the suspects used stolen rental cars to target gas stations in San Isidro and El Médano. To avoid identification, they used these vehicles to travel to the sites, where they threatened staff with knives and iron bars to steal cash from the registers.

Authorities credited neighborhood cooperation as a key factor in the case, noting that information from the public helped officers identify the suspects. Because these crimes involved violence and the use of weapons in public, the accused face significant prison sentences. The arrests have brought an end to the criminal activity, restoring peace to the local businesses affected.
