Spanish National Police have dismantled a drug distribution hub in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, arresting two individuals and seizing cocaine, hashish, and cash from a residential property.

Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have dismantled a drug distribution hub in the Santa Clara neighborhood, highlighting the ongoing challenge of dealers using private homes to sell drugs. This method makes police surveillance difficult by turning residential spaces into illegal sales centers.

The National Police arrested two people during the operation. The main suspect has been held in pre-trial detention, reflecting the severity of the charges.

Officers launched the raid after noticing an unusual number of people visiting the properties. They observed a pattern of buyers arriving and leaving quickly after completing cash transactions, which provided enough evidence for a judge to authorize a search. During the operation, police seized 123 grams of cocaine, smaller amounts of hashish and crack, and 3,310 euros in cash.

These police actions are essential for breaking up local drug networks that disrupt neighborhood life. The suspects face charges for crimes against public health. Because of the nature of these offenses, such cases often result in jail time, as seen with the primary suspect following their court appearance. This operation not only removed illegal substances from the streets but also shut down a criminal hub that had been causing significant concern for local residents.
