Spanish National Police arrested a 21-year-old man in Santa Cruz de Tenerife after discovering 49 individual doses of narcotics hidden in his vehicle during a routine patrol.
The National Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have arrested a 21-year-old man for drug trafficking as part of an ongoing effort to combat street-level drug sales in vulnerable urban areas.
The arrest took place in the Los Gladiolos neighborhood, near the local municipal shelter—a location where police have increased patrols to protect residents at risk of social exclusion. During a routine patrol, officers stopped a vehicle after the driver’s behavior raised suspicions.
A search of the car revealed a wallet hidden under the driver’s seat containing 49 individual wraps of a white substance, totaling 10.20 grams. Police noted that because the drugs were already packaged into small doses, it was clear they were intended for retail sale. The suspect has been handed over to judicial authorities.
This operation highlights the police's commitment to tackling small-scale drug dealing in sensitive areas. By increasing surveillance near social support centers, authorities aim to prevent criminal activity from further endangering vulnerable individuals and to improve overall public safety.
