Plenilunio Santa Cruz 2026 to Showcase Canary Islands’ Urban Music Evolution
The Plenilunio Santa Cruz 2026 festival will transform the city into a vibrant musical hub from October 2 to 4, showcasing a diverse lineup of urban artists, local performers, and cultural events across multiple venues.
The Canary Islands have firmly established themselves as the heart of Spain’s urban music scene. This isn't just a passing trend; it is the result of a creative evolution that has grown well beyond the islands' shores. Organizers of Plenilunio Santa Cruz 2026 have designed this year’s program to showcase that growth, bringing together the pioneers who built the foundation of this sound alongside the new voices currently making waves on the global stage.
The event runs from October 2 to 4, with the main performances taking place on the Avenida Marítima on Saturday, October 3. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the stage will highlight the genre's generational shift: Santora DJ kicks things off, followed at 8:30 p.m. by Daniela Garsal, whose R&B-infused style showcases the scene's growing diversity. At 9:15 p.m., Lewis Potter—who recently released his debut LP, BRITISHBOY—will perform. The main stage closes at 10:00 p.m. with Locoplaya, the collective that helped define the Canarian urban identity and recently returned to the studio for their new EP, El Caletón.
This year, the festival is spreading its cultural offerings across the city. The Nuestra Señora de África Market will host performances by Lenny, Blue Ipanema, Trío Zapatista, and Lotus from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. Meanwhile, the Acousticland program will bring live music to various spots, including Calle La Rosa, Plaza de San Francisco, La Noria, and Avenida de Anaga. These performances will run in two blocks: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., featuring a wide range of artists including the 101 Brass Band, Dorina Violinista, Víctor y la Nube, Víctor Cáceres Sax, Celso Sax, Ana Obando, Naudo Rodrigues, and Diamond Show.
Parque García Sanabria will also join the festivities with Le Good Market, a space blending fashion, food, and music from artists like Luis Ramírez Cuba, Ana Obando, Aliona Kuitka, Ceila Cumbia, Wladimir, and Guerrero. The lineup is rounded out by institutional groups, including the Music Unit of the Canary Islands Command and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Municipal Band, along with carnival troupes and roving performers.
