Phe Gallery Opens Submissions for Ninth Edition Focusing on Sustainability

The ninth edition of Phe Gallery is officially open for submissions, marking a new chapter for this Canary Islands exhibition space. Organized by the Phe Festival and supported by the Puerto de la Cruz City Council and the CajaCanarias Foundation, the project aims to become a key hub for young creators. More than just a traditional gallery, it serves as a space for critical thinking about life in the islands.

The call for entries is open until June 14. This year, the organizers are looking for artwork that explores sustainability and how we coexist with our environment. With land management and human impact on nature currently at the heart of public debate, the festival is particularly interested in pieces that examine the relationship between our ecosystems and modern lifestyles. However, the invitation is broad, welcoming everything from traditional visual arts to video, performance, and sound-based projects.

A major change this year is the move to the Eduardo Westerdahl Museum of Contemporary Art (Macew), managed by the Institute of Hispanic Studies of the Canary Islands. This historic venue provides a prestigious setting for the exhibition, which will run from August 7 to September 5, helping to increase the visibility of the selected artists.
