Phe Festival Expands International Lineup
The Phe Festival in Tenerife is expanding its international lineup for its eleventh edition on September 4 and 5, adding diverse acts like British duo Getdown Services, British-Ghanaian group Ibibio Sound Machine, and New York collective Bodega.
The Phe Festival in Tenerife is becoming more international, with new music acts joining its eleventh edition in Puerto de la Cruz on September 4 and 5. This reflects a growing trend among Spanish cultural events to reach a wider global audience and offer more diverse art, aiming for greater international recognition and cultural exchange.
New additions to the lineup include the British duo Getdown Services, the British-Ghanaian group Ibibio Sound Machine, and the New York collective Bodega. These groups bring a mix of genres like disco rock, afrofunk, post-punk, electro, and indie rock, helping the festival offer a truly diverse musical experience.
These new acts join an existing lineup that features Carlos Ares, Rufus T. Firefly, Barry B, British artist Ona Mafalda, Argentine Natalia Doco, and Canarian musician Choclock. Tickets for the event are available now at https://tickety.es/event/phe-festival-2026.
The festival will have two stages for live music. A third area, the Phe Club, will offer continuous club and dance music, featuring leading electronic artists.
Ibibio Sound Machine will be performing in the Canary Islands for the second time, having previously played at Womad Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2022. Their distinctive afrofunk sound mixes African and electronic elements, inspired by the golden age of West African funk and disco, with added post-punk and electro influences.
Bristol duo Getdown Services, Josh Law and Ben Sadler, are coming to the festival after the success of their debut album, 'Crisps' (2023). The album was a notable release in recent music, known for its danceable rhythms and disco rock style.
New York's Bodega, led by Ben Hozie and Nikki Belfiglio, brings a conceptual approach that pushes beyond traditional rock and roll. Formed in 2014, they were initially seen as a post-punk band, but their music explores a wide range of rock subgenres, making them hard to categorize.
