Phe Festival Expands Electronic Programming With International Headliners
Tenerife’s Phe Festival is expanding its electronic music programming by featuring international headliners Phil Hartnoll and Alexis Taylor at its "Phe Club" stage this September.
Phe Festival is shifting its programming strategy in the Canary Islands by putting a new focus on electronic music. The Tenerife-based event is expanding its third stage, "Phe Club," by bringing in two major international acts: Phil Hartnoll of the duo Orbital and Alexis Taylor, the lead singer of Hot Chip. This move aims to diversify the festival experience, allowing dance-focused sets to run alongside performances on the main Heineken and Deichmann stages on September 4th and 5th.
These bookings are significant. Hartnoll represents the history of techno and British club culture, which has defined European festivals since the nineties. In contrast, Taylor brings a more eclectic style, blending pop, soul, and house music. By featuring both, the festival is positioning dance music as a central pillar of the event rather than just a side attraction.
This addition complements an already diverse lineup that includes post-punk bands like Bodega and Fat Dog, indie acts like VVV [Trippin’ You] and Ezezez, and established artists such as Rufus T. Firefly and Barry B. Local talent, including Belice and Xerach, also remains a key part of the schedule, balancing international appeal with the local music scene.
Across Spain, festivals are increasingly prioritizing clubbing alongside traditional concerts to offer more immersive, continuous experiences. With tickets available through Tickety.es, Phe Festival is using this new format to strengthen its position in the competitive national summer festival circuit.
