Brazilian artist Pedro Torres's new exhibition "Glimpse," an immersive experience of movement, color, and sound exploring fleeting moments of reality, has opened at the El Tanque Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and runs until April 5.

The El Tanque Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has been transformed into a world of constant movement, color, and sounds. These elements come together to show brief moments of reality in "Glimpse," a new artwork by Brazilian artist Pedro Torres. This exhibition, made specifically for the space, opened this Saturday in the old oil depot and can be visited until April 5. Entry is free.

Diana Padrón, the exhibition's curator, explains that "glimpse" means a quick, incomplete look at something. She says, "Our present is hazy and unclear. As 2026 began, the only thing certain was uncertainty: we can't imagine where the world is going."

Padrón believes that stories of doom and dark futures seem to be everywhere, while information – and our restless attention – moves incredibly fast. She adds, "Everything passes, everything is forgotten, and nothing seems to leave a trace. But perhaps, a brief glimpse can keep some kind of promise open."

Pedro Torres, an artist living in Barcelona, has tailored his art to the unique features of this cultural space in Santa Cruz. He invites visitors to dive into an experience that blends technology, art, and perception. Yesterday morning, curator Diana Padrón attended the opening and gave a full tour, aiming to help people connect more with Torres's work.

Born in Glória de Dourados in 1982, Pedro Torres is known for his explorations of light, time, and how we perceive things. For "Glimpse," he has created an installation that combines digital video loops, artificial fog, mirrored and dichroic acrylics, fabrics, motors, sound, and light sources. This creates an environment that is always changing. The new work in Santa Cruz de Tenerife invites the public to experience a space where every moment feels like a quick flash, a fleeting glimpse of reality.

Diana Padrón (born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1984) is a researcher, lecturer, and curator. She teaches at the University of Barcelona and is part of the team for the Sant Andreu Contemporani program, run by ICUB / Barcelona City Council. She has worked with various research and development groups (at the University of Barcelona and Complutense University of Madrid) and has been a visiting professor at universities such as Padua, Lille, and Goldsmiths College – University of London. She also coordinated the On Mediation platform.
