Paula Echevarría Wrote Goodbye Message During Terrifying Flight
Actress Paula Echevarría revealed she wrote a goodbye message during a terrifying flight to Tenerife while promoting her new series Camino a Arcadia.
Actors Paula Echevarría and William Levy are currently promoting their new series, Camino a Arcadia. This show was filmed in the Canary Islands last year. William Levy, who is Cuban, knows the islands well; he's been there many times for work and recently shared that he even has family roots there.
But it was Paula, his co-star, who had a memorable story from their time in Tenerife. During recent promotional events, including the series premiere on Wednesday night, Echevarría shared a terrifying experience she had on a flight to the island.
"The airport in the north is very windy," the actress told reporters. "With the storm, wind, fog, and bad visibility, we had a really tough time." She also shared this story with Pablo Motos on the TV show El Hormiguero. William Levy, who was also on the show, showed he knew the Los Rodeos airport well, adding, "That always happens there."
Echevarría didn't find it common at all, and neither did the other passengers, judging by her description: "Everyone was screaming." The issue was the pilot's struggle against strong winds and poor visibility, forcing difficult maneuvers.
"The plane had to climb, circle a few times, try to land again, climb again, and then it was like 'bam!' – it was quite wild," she explained on Wednesday. "We all got a bit scared."
In fact, on the Antena 3 show, she admitted she was so frightened that she even wrote a goodbye message. "I had it ready to send if I needed to, but I don't even remember what I wrote because I deleted it as soon as we landed."
Despite the scary flight, Echevarría has very fond memories of her time in the Canary Islands. "It's so good to be in the Canary Islands!" she exclaimed, a sentiment Levy agreed with, and even the puppet ants Trancas and Barrancas from the show confirmed.
The famous ants from Pablo Motos' popular show then started using Canarian words like cholas, cotufas, and enyugarse, which even surprised the host. "Are they making it up or is it real?" he wondered.
Beyond the series itself, Paula Echevarría's relationship with Miguel Torres has also been a popular topic during promotions. At the Camino a Arcadia premiere, she told reporters that she has "no" plans to marry the athlete. "We're both very happy as we are," she said, "he doesn't want to get married, and neither do I."
However, when informed that Miguel had publicly mentioned he'd like her to propose to him, the actress reacted with surprise. "What did Miguel tell you? When? Why? When did he say that? Was it recently? This week?" she asked. "Well, that's just like him; he loves to stir things up."
