Director Patricia Ortega has wrapped production on Golpes a mi puerta, a drama starring Mimí Lazo and Bárbara Cuesta that follows two nuns facing an ethical dilemma over granting asylum to a man accused of terrorism.

Seville-based filmmaker Patricia Ortega has officially wrapped production on her latest feature film, Golpes a mi puerta (Knocks at My Door). This project follows the success of her previous film, Mamacruz.

The screenplay, written by Academy Award winner Nicolás Giacobone and Cecilia Libster, centers on a gripping ethical dilemma. The story follows two nuns who must decide whether to grant asylum to a man accused of terrorism, leaving them at a difficult crossroads with no easy answers. The film stars Mimí Lazo, Bárbara Cuesta, Daniel Arias, and Ramiro Blas, with supporting roles from Neus Sanz and Vladimir Cruz.

Filmed on location in Toledo and Tenerife, the production was both technically and emotionally challenging. Ortega described her involvement in the project as a fortunate alignment of circumstances, leading to a successful collaboration with the production company Eterno Pictures.

The film is a joint venture between Eterno Island Pictures, VIP2000 TV, and Broadway en Español LLC, with executive production led by Patricia González, Roxana Rotundo, and Mimí Lazo. Ortega’s creative vision was supported by a dedicated technical team, including director of photography David Cortázar, art director Gustavo Ramírez, and editor Fátima de los Santos. The score was composed by José Cuesta, with sound design by Miguel Carretero. The crew also included costume designer Amador García, makeup and hair artists Sonia de la Fuente and Federico Calcatelli, special effects artist Iván López, and still photographer Rubén Chavero.

This film marks a significant step forward for Ortega, who successfully navigated the logistical complexities of the shoot to maintain a consistent creative tone throughout the process.
