Paraglider Seriously Injured in Tenerife Fall
A paraglider sustained serious injuries after a fall in Tenerife's Taucho takeoff area and was airlifted to a hospital.
A paraglider has been seriously hurt after a fall in the Taucho takeoff area, located in Arona, Tenerife. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 reported the incident on Sunday.
The emergency services were alerted around 3:20 PM and quickly responded.
When medical teams arrived, they found the injured person in a hard-to-reach spot. A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was sent to help.
GES rescuers, along with Tenerife Firefighters, found the paraglider and brought them to the Adeje firefighters' helipad.
A specialized ambulance was waiting there to treat the injured person. After being stabilized, they were taken to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital.
