No injuries were reported after a vehicle caught fire on Tenerife's TF-1 highway near Arona on Thursday, prompting a swift response from emergency services to extinguish the flames and restore traffic flow.

Road safety on the Canary Islands' major highways is back in the spotlight after a car caught fire on the TF-1 this Thursday, May 21. According to the 112 Canary Islands emergency service, no one was injured in the incident.

The fire occurred at kilometer 66, near Arona, while the vehicle was heading south. Firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Consortium quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames, preventing the situation from becoming a greater danger to other drivers.

While vehicle fires caused by mechanical or electrical issues are relatively common, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, especially when driving in areas with challenging terrain and high temperatures.
