Nito's Market, a new marketplace focused on local Canarian goods and sustainable shopping, is opening this Thursday in northeastern Tenerife, spearheaded by farmer Sergio Rodríguez Gutiérrez.

Nito's Market is opening this Thursday, October 23rd, at 174 Carretera General El Portezuelo – Las Toscas. It aims to be a go-to place for local goods and support a circular economy in northeastern Tenerife.

Sergio Rodríguez Gutiérrez (Nito), a young Canarian farmer with lots of experience growing and selling fruits and vegetables, is behind the project. He wants to make it easier for people to buy local produce, encouraging sustainable and responsible shopping.

The Agrícolas Nito team says, "Nito's Market is more than just a shop. We want it to be a place where people can enjoy local products, connect with each other, and feel like they're part of something that values what we produce here."

The market will sell fresh fruits and vegetables, natural smoothies, coffee, homemade food, and other local products in a setting that mixes a rustic feel with modern design.

The aim is to showcase Canarian identity and the work of local producers.

Nito's Market will also be a place for farmers, sellers, and customers to meet, strengthening the local producer network and promoting food independence in the area.

Sergio Rodríguez, who runs Frutas y Verduras Nito, became well-known in 2021 when his watermelon sales campaign went viral.

Due to hot weather and changes in the climate, they had too many watermelons. They asked their social media followers for help to sell the huge amount of fruit.

This campaign, along with a strong social media presence, has made him a respected figure in the local food industry.
