
Nicky Jam, Yatra Lead Santa Cruz Carnival's Piñata Finale
Santa Cruz de Tenerife's Piñata weekend will conclude the Carnival celebrations with over eighteen hours of non-stop music from international artists across multiple stages, alongside traditional performances and fireworks, aiming for a spectacular finish to the 'Latin rhythms' themed event.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council's Department of Festivities has announced the schedule for Piñata weekend, which will wrap up the Carnival celebrations. This initiative aims to extend the festivities with over eighteen hours of non-stop music and entertainment, running from Saturday lunchtime until early Sunday morning. It highlights the city's goal to make its Carnival a world-class event, providing a spectacular finish to this year's edition, which was dedicated to Latin rhythms.
Saturday's festivities kick off at 12:00 PM with Day Carnival dances. The Francisco La Roche stage will feature a lineup of artists throughout the day and night. DJ Wes starts at 2:00 PM, followed by international singer Leoni Torres at 3:30 PM. Anaé performs at 5:00 PM, then Eddy Herrera takes the stage at 5:30 PM for a ninety-minute set before Pepe Benavente. The evening continues with Sebastián Yatra at 7:30 PM, Tay de León at 9:00 PM, and the much-anticipated Nicky Jam at 9:30 PM, performing until 11:00 PM. DJ Jonay will then keep the party going until 6:00 AM.
Meanwhile, La Candelaria square's Dormitorum stage will host its own program. Comparsas will perform until 1:00 PM. From 1:30 PM, Nueva Línea, Pepe Benavente, and El Morocho will each play half-hour sets. Tonny Tun Tun is scheduled for 2:30 PM, followed by Maquinaria Band at 4:00 PM, and another performance by Nueva Línea from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Starting at 7:00 PM, various orchestras will take turns every hour and fifteen minutes, including Saoco, Wamampy, Tropin, Generasión, Sonora Olympia, and Dinacord. DJ Osorio will then close out the night until 6:00 AM.
Over in Plaza del Príncipe, the COPE network will broadcast its programming from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. From 9:15 PM onwards, Varadera 103, Orquesta Tenerife, Orquesta Maracaibo, and Banda Loca will perform, alternating every two hours and keeping the party going until 6:00 AM.
Following Saturday's packed music schedule, Piñata Sunday will see Carnival groups and artists return to entertain the streets. Sunday also features the third Senior Carnival and the traditional fireworks display, bringing this year's 'Latin rhythms' themed edition to a spectacular close.
