Ángel Guimerá Jorge Avenue to Implement One-Way Traffic Tomorrow
La Laguna's Avenida Ángel Guimerá Jorge will implement one-way downhill traffic starting tomorrow to facilitate ongoing roadwork and improve safety, with Titsa also adjusting sidewalks for temporary bus stops.
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, October 16th, there will be changes to the road signs on Avenida Ángel Guimerá Jorge. The La Laguna City Council is making these changes to allow traffic to flow in only one direction downhill.
Badel Albelo, the city councilor in charge of Citizen Security and Mobility, said that these changes will help keep drivers and pedestrians safe and make it easier to get around while the Cabildo is doing road work. Part of the road will be used by workers and their vehicles.
The council appreciates everyone's patience and cooperation as these necessary works may cause some inconvenience. The goal is to improve safety and access around the Intercambiador area.
The public transport company, Titsa, will also begin work tomorrow to adjust the sidewalks for temporary bus stops. This should take about a week.
These traffic changes are happening because work is starting on October 27th to install a new section of the pedestrian walkway that leads to the Intercambiador de La Laguna.
