Passengers on a Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife South on September 4 were definitely not to be envied. During the flight, an incident occurred that forced the crew to call the police.
"The crew of the flight from Edinburgh is asking the police to meet them after landing due to an unruly passenger on board. We expedited the landing as much as possible while coordinating the arrival of the Civil Guard at the airport," air traffic controllers reported on social network X.
But this was not the only unpleasant incident that day on flights to the Canary Islands. A Jet2 plane flying from Liverpool to Lanzarote urgently contacted controllers due to a passenger feeling unwell. A young woman became ill, started having seizures, and needed urgent medical attention.
"We from the Enaire control center in the Canary Islands reduced the landing time as much as possible, allowed them to fly at a higher speed, and cleared the airspace to speed up the maneuver," the controllers said.
They also arranged for medical assistance at the airport.
