The south of Tenerife is preparing for a real celebration of taste! This dinner promises to be one of the most memorable gastronomic events of the year in the Canary Islands. Both chefs are true world-class stars. They will show how haute Basque cuisine and modern Korean cuisine are combined.
Martín and Akira will combine their talents to create something special from local products. All this will take place in a luxurious location: palm trees, the ocean, and a sophisticated resort that has long been a culinary hallmark of the Canary Islands.
At the dinner, Berasategui and Back will offer a menu that reflects their style. It will start with four appetizers, including truffle jelly and Whiskey Sour from Berasategui, as well as pico de gallo tacos and eggplant with miso from Akira Back.
Next, there will be six main courses, where local products will play the main role: puff pastry with smoked eel, carabineros from La Santa, pork belly with kimchi, and megrim with beurre blanc. For dessert, there will be yuzu mochi with Canary roasted honey and crispy gofio from Back, and smoked corn with salted caramel ice cream from Berasategui.
This dinner is a meeting of two different perspectives, united by a love of delicious food and a desire for perfection.
The event will take place at The Ritz-Carlton Abama, where each chef has his own restaurant. The price of the dinner is 245 euros per person (plus tax), and the wine pairing is another 150 euros.

Martín Berasategui, originally from San Sebastián, is the Spanish chef with the most Michelin stars (as many as 12!). He has come a long way from Bodegón Alejandro to Lasarte-Oria and has made a great contribution to the development of modern Basque cuisine.
Akira Back, who was born in Seoul but grew up in Colorado, was originally a professional snowboarder before creating a gastronomic empire. He has over 30 restaurants in various cities around the world, where he combines Japanese and Korean traditions with international techniques.
The Ritz-Carlton, Abama is located in the southwest of the island, near Guía de Isora and San Juan Beach. It is a luxurious place among tropical gardens and volcanic cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
