This week brings a fantastic mix of movies to choose from. You can catch the family drama A pesar de ti, the intense thriller Los Tigres, the comedy Cuerpos locos for all ages, the supernatural drama Esa cosa con alas, and the horror film Together. There's also the animated adventure Súper Charlie. Plus, a special event: Back to the Future is back on the big screen to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

A pesar de ti comes from Josh Boone, director of The Fault in Our Stars, and Colleen Hoover, author of It Ends With Us. This emotional family drama explores second chances and the strength of family bonds. It features an impressive cast, including Allison Williams (M3GAN), Mckenna Grace (from the Ghostbusters movies), Dave Franco (Now You See Me), Mason Thames (The Black Phone), Scott Eastwood (Wrath of Man), and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption). The story follows Morgan Grant and her daughter Clara as they try to rebuild their lives after a terrible accident. But when a shocking betrayal comes to light, they must face painful secrets from their past.

Also opening is Los Tigres, the latest film from Alberto Rodríguez, the director of Marshland. This movie won an award for its cinematography at the San Sebastián Festival. Antonio de la Torre and Bárbara Lennie star in this tense drama, filmed at sea, where every scene is packed with emotion. It's about two brothers who, facing an uncertain future, are forced to make desperate choices after finding a hidden stash on an oil tanker.

For a family-friendly laugh, check out Cuerpos locos. This new comedy from Ana Murugarren, known for El hotel de los lílios and García y García, stars Paz Padilla and young Maia Zaitegi. The cast also includes Antonio Resines, Ricardo Castella, and Diego Arroba "El Cejas." It's a fun adventure about a magical event that causes a ten-year-old girl and her future stepmother to swap bodies.

After being shown at Sundance, the Berlinale, and the Sitges Festival, Esa cosa con alas is now in cinemas, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. This film is the first fiction feature from British documentary filmmaker Dylan Southern, who adapted Max Porter's acclaimed novel. It tells the story of a young father struggling to cope with his wife's sudden death. He must confront a mysterious presence that starts to haunt the dark corners of the apartment he shares with his young children.

Another film that premiered at Sitges is Together, a highly anticipated movie for fans of "body horror." It stars Alison Brie and Dave Franco, who appears in two films this week. Written and directed by Michael Shanks, the movie uses a terrifying supernatural story to explore the complexities of codependent relationships.

Just in time for Halloween, Súper Charlie also arrives in cinemas. This animated film is based on the first illustrated book by famous crime novelist Camilla Läckberg. Critics have called it "a fun film with great animation and a clear sense of humor," comparing its cleverness and vision to The Incredibles. The story is about Wille, a 10-year-old boy who always dreamed of being a superhero like his brave police officer father. But his world changes when his baby brother Charlie is born, a baby with incredible superpowers.

Finally, this week's big cinema event is the re-release of Robert Zemeckis's classic, Back to the Future. Universal Pictures is bringing the film back to theaters four decades after its original release in 1985. Starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, the movie was an instant hit, topping the global box office and becoming one of the most iconic films of the 80s. The Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera is hosting a special pre-festival event this Saturday, featuring a screening of the beloved film followed by a discussion.
