New Bus Line 385 Boosts Puerto de la Cruz Mobility
Addressing long-standing resident requests, Puerto de la Cruz will launch new Titsa bus line 385 next Monday, February 9, connecting vital city points and significantly enhancing local public transport.
Puerto de la Cruz is getting a new public transport line, number 385. This is a big step forward for getting around the city and answers a long-standing request from residents. The City Council's Sustainable City department announced that the service, which starts next Monday, February 9, aims to make it easier for people to travel in this important tourist town.
Run by Titsa, line 385 will operate Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 9:15 PM, with buses arriving approximately every 40 minutes. The route will connect key locations such as Puerto de la Cruz station, El Durazno, the area near El Botánico, Taoro Park, and the health center, before returning to its starting point. Your usual Titsa pass will be valid for this service.
This project is the result of an agreement between the Puerto de la Cruz City Council and the Cabildo de Tenerife, which took several years to develop. David Hernández (ACP), the Councillor for Sustainable City, noted the complexity of the negotiations, mentioning challenges with technical setup and signage. As part of this agreement, the city council will temporarily provide Titsa with a plot of land in the Piedra Redonda industrial estate for parking vehicles. Preparing this site involved an investment of over 500,000 euros.
This new bus line is expected to make it easier for residents to travel to health centers, schools, and shops, helping to connect different neighborhoods better. Hernández stressed that this initiative addresses long-standing gaps in the local public transport network. Specifically, it will allow residents of El Taoro to access health services or homes, and residents of El Botánico to travel to the outpatient clinic. Additionally, it will create connections between neighborhoods via routes like Luis Rodríguez Figueroa, benefiting areas that were previously far from existing bus stops.
