National Police officers in Puerto de la Cruz saved a man’s life on May 23 after forcing entry into his home to provide emergency medical aid for a severe neck injury.

National Police officers in Puerto de la Cruz are being credited with saving a man’s life following a critical incident on May 23.

The operation began after police received a report from a concerned citizen. An acquaintance of the man had received a digital farewell message from him, which included a photo showing a serious injury. Recognizing the immediate danger, officers rushed to the man's home. Upon hearing cries for help from inside, they forced their way into the property.

Inside, they found the man suffering from a deep neck wound. The officers immediately took action to stop the bleeding, using their training to stabilize him as he went into shock and suffered from severe hypothermia. They coordinated with emergency services to transport him to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias (HUC), where he underwent emergency surgery.
