30-year-old forward Nano Mesa, who has not played for three years, has joined Real Unión de Tenerife with the aim of reviving his career and helping the team succeed.

On Wednesday, Real Unión de Tenerife announced the addition to their team – 30-year-old forward Nano Mesa, also from Tenerife, has joined them. The player hasn't played for three years, but he has been training all this time and waiting for a chance to return to football.

The team's head coach, Miguel Delgado, continues to strengthen the squad. He needed another player for the "number nine" position, and now he has got him.

Alexander Mesa Travieso is a forward from La Laguna. He started his career at CD Tenerife, went through their academy, and in 2014, he debuted for the main team in the Segunda División (the second-highest division in Spain).

Then he was loaned to L'Hospitalet from Barcelona (Segunda División B, now Primera Federación), after which he returned to CD Tenerife and had his best year there.

Wearing the Tenerife jersey, Mesa scored 14 goals in 34 Segunda matches. This helped him move to the Primera División (the highest division), where he signed a contract with SD Eibar for 3.2 million euros.

He played 23 matches in La Liga for Eibar, Levante, and Cádiz. At Cádiz, he was coached by Álvaro Cervera, who once gave him his debut in the Tenerife squad. Mesa also played for Sporting Gijón, Logroñés, and Zaragoza – all in the Segunda División.

With Sporting, he almost reached the top division, but the team lost in the playoff final to Real Valladolid. However, with Cádiz, he managed to get promoted to the Primera División – they finished second in the league and received direct promotion.

Mesa's last club was Zaragoza, where he played 23 matches and was one of the key players in the first half of the season.

Now he has a chance in the Tercera División (the fourth-highest division) with Real Unión de Tenerife. Currently, the team is in tenth place, with 7 points from two wins (against Tenisca and San Miguel) and one draw (in the match against Villa Santa Brígida).

In an interview with Cope, the 30-year-old forward said that the break in his career was due to "many factors," but mainly because he was communicating with "people who were not beneficial." Now his "problems are solved," and he is eager to return and show "what kind of player he was."

He also said that he still has time to regain his best form. If he is surrounded by people who support him, if he "feels important," and regains the desire to play, then "all the goals he sets for himself will be achieved."

"The quality is there, it hasn't gone anywhere," Nano Mesa concluded, adding that his main goal is to once again feel happiness and comfort from playing football.

Mesa has joined Real Unión to help the team succeed. He believes that together they can achieve both team and personal goals.
