This Saturday, the Catalan-Aragonese company Capicúa brings its circus, theatre, and fashion show "Nüshu," which honors seamstresses, to Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Imagine acrobats working, sewing, dancing, laughing, and climbing. This is the world of Nüshu, a show that tells stories through movement, quiet moments, and lively chaos. The Catalan-Aragonese company Capicúa brings together circus, theatre, and fashion in this performance, aiming to give a voice to seamstresses. You can see Nüshu this Saturday at 8:00 PM at Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Tickets cost 10 euros and are available at the box office or on the venue's website.

Nüshu highlights the importance of creating places where the work of women, especially those in vital community trades, is valued and recognized. The five artists from Capicúa perform to honor seamstresses, emphasizing their crucial role in supporting families fifty years ago. As they explain, "Now we, their granddaughters and great-granddaughters, champion this trade and pay tribute to it on stage."

More than just a circus and theatre show, Nüshu acts as a bridge between generations. It's a space where mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and friends can symbolically connect. Every movement, every playful moment, and every laugh becomes a thread, weaving together heartfelt and powerful stories.

The show also explores themes of reuse, transformation, and creativity. It offers these ideas as a response to the fast fashion industry's current problems of overproduction, exploitation, and excessive consumption.

Capicúa was founded in 2009 by Rebeca Gutiérrez and Yolanda Gutiérrez. The company's previous works include Cabaret (2010), Entredos (2013), Koselig (2018), and Nüshu (2021).
