The Museum of Nature and Archaeology in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host a free, space-themed "Tenerife Family Experience" this Saturday to celebrate the International Day of Families through intergenerational activities and educational workshops.

This weekend, the Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host an open house event focused on bringing generations together. Organized by the Cabildo de Tenerife, the "Tenerife Family Experience" takes place this Saturday, May 23, transforming the museum into a community hub to celebrate the International Day of Families.

The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and features a space-themed program that combines astronomy with educational and social activities. The initiative is led by the Ministry of Social Action, Inclusion, Volunteering and Citizen Participation, with support from SINPROMI, the Tenerife Development Society, and the Cabildo’s Sports department.

Beyond entertainment, the event aims to promote healthy habits and raise awareness about human rights. Highlights include the "Route of the Senses," which explores accessibility challenges, an exhibition on children’s rights, and various physical activities led by the Ofra Sports Complex team.

Águeda Fumero, the Minister of Social Action, stated that the goal is to build community and encourage real interaction between different age groups, rather than just hosting a symbolic event. Island director Yolanda Baumgartner added that the program successfully balances cultural offerings with a focus on emotional well-being.

All activities are free to attend. You can find the full schedule on the Ministry’s official social media channels.
