A multi-vehicle crash on the South Tenerife highway near Tabaiba has caused injuries and significant traffic delays, with emergency services currently on scene.
A multi-vehicle crash on the South Tenerife highway is causing traffic jams, emergency services report.
It's not yet clear how many vehicles are involved or how badly people are hurt. However, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) confirms that emergency crews are on site and have found injured individuals.
Two ambulances from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), Tenerife Firefighters, and Civil Guard officers have been dispatched to the scene. Technicians from the Tenerife Island Council's road service are also there.
The accident, which happened near Tabaiba, is blocking all three southbound lanes on the island, causing significant delays.
Cecoes is asking drivers in the area to be extra careful.
