A 29-year-old motorcyclist is in serious condition following a crash on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway near Arona, prompting a Civil Guard investigation into the cause of the incident.

Concerns over road safety on Tenerife have resurfaced following a serious crash on the TF-1 motorway this Wednesday. A 29-year-old man is currently receiving specialized medical care after falling from his motorcycle near the Los Cristianos junction in Arona.

Emergency services were called to the scene immediately. After being stabilized by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the man was first taken to the Hospital del Sur. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for further treatment.

The emergency response involved a medicalized ambulance, a basic life support unit, Civil Guard officers, and highway maintenance crews. While the Civil Guard investigates the cause of the accident, maintenance teams worked to clear the road and restore traffic flow.

This incident on one of the island’s busiest roads highlights the ongoing risks faced by motorcyclists and the vital role of rapid emergency response. The Civil Guard’s investigation will determine whether the fall was caused by external factors or a loss of control.
