Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured in Tenerife Crash on TF-28
A motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured in a collision on Tenerife’s TF-28 road in El Rosario on Friday.
Safety on Tenerife’s secondary roads is back in the spotlight following a tragic accident in El Rosario this Friday. According to the 112 Canary Islands emergency service, one motorcyclist died and another was seriously injured in a crash at kilometer 9 of the TF-28.
Emergency services were alerted to the collision at 2:36 p.m., prompting a large response from local police, the Civil Guard, road maintenance crews, and two ambulances. Despite the best efforts of medical teams, one motorcyclist could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second rider was stabilized and rushed to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC) for urgent treatment.
Accidents on these types of roads remain a major safety concern for the island. The TF-28, which winds through much of Tenerife’s mid-altitude region, is frequently monitored by authorities due to the high number of motorcyclists and other vulnerable road users who rely on it.
An investigation is now underway to determine the exact cause of the crash, and updates on the condition of the hospitalized patient are pending.
