Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on Tenerife’s TF-21 Mountain Road
A 25-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized with moderate injuries after losing control of his bike on Tenerife’s TF-21 road in La Orotava on Friday.
Road safety on Tenerife’s mountain routes is back in the spotlight after a motorcycle accident this Friday in La Orotava. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 112), a 25-year-old man lost control of his bike on the TF-21 road and required medical attention.
The crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. at kilometer 26. This road is a vital link between the coast and Teide National Park, but its winding layout and heavy motorcycle traffic make it a challenging route that demands constant focus. Emergency responders arrived quickly to treat the rider, who sustained a moderate arm injury. He was then taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further care.
The Civil Guard is now investigating the cause of the accident. This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with Tenerife’s more technical roads, where sharp curves and changing conditions require extra caution from riders. Authorities are currently working to determine if the crash was caused by human error or external factors.
