A 50-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized with moderate injuries following a collision with a car on the TF-13 road in La Laguna, Tenerife, this afternoon.

Road safety on Tenerife is back in the spotlight after a crash this afternoon in La Laguna. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 112), a 50-year-old woman was injured in the incident.

The collision, which involved a car and a motorcycle, occurred around 1:30 p.m. on the TF-13 road near Bajamar. The motorcyclist was the only person requiring medical attention and was treated at the scene by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). She was later taken to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital with moderate injuries.

This accident highlights the vulnerability of motorcyclists on secondary roads, who are statistically at a much higher risk of injury in a collision than those in cars. The Local Police are now investigating the crash to determine exactly what happened and whether factors like traffic volume or road conditions played a role.
