Road safety in Tenerife’s busy tourist areas is back in the spotlight following a crash in Puerto de la Cruz this past Saturday. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 1-1-2), a man suffered moderate injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car on Avenida Loro Parque.
The accident occurred at 4:37 p.m. on June 13. Emergency crews, including a basic life support ambulance, were quickly dispatched to the scene. Medical staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) stabilized the man, who had sustained various traumatic injuries, before taking him to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital for further treatment.
Collisions like this on busy urban roads highlight how vulnerable motorcyclists are compared to drivers. Managing traffic in areas that serve both residents and a high volume of tourists remains a significant challenge for local authorities. The quick response of the emergency teams ensured the victim received timely care, which is vital for recovery in traffic-related trauma cases.
