Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Crash on Tenerife’s TF-465
A 31-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after crashing on the TF-465 in Guía de Isora, reigniting concerns over road safety in southern Tenerife.
Road safety on secondary roads in southern Tenerife is back in the spotlight following a serious crash this Saturday on the TF-465 in Guía de Isora. Emergency services report that a 31-year-old man is in critical condition after his motorcycle veered off the road near Vera de Erques.
The 112 Emergency Coordination Center received the alert at 11:36 a.m. Due to the severity of the man’s multiple injuries, a major rescue operation was launched. After receiving initial treatment from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC)—which deployed both ground crews and a medical helicopter—the victim was airlifted to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
The Civil Guard attended the scene to manage traffic and has opened an investigation into the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the Tenerife Island Council’s road maintenance team cleared the area to ensure the route was safe for other drivers.
The incident has reignited concerns about safety on the La Chiquita road, which has a history of accidents. The route’s sharp curves make it popular with motorcyclists and cyclists on weekends, but the challenging layout has led to repeated calls for better safety measures and increased traffic control in the area.
