A 40-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized with moderate injuries following a collision with a car on Tenerife’s TF-237 road in La Laguna on Tuesday.

Road safety on Tenerife’s secondary roads is back in the spotlight following a crash this Tuesday in La Laguna. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 112), a 40-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a car on the TF-237, near the ascent to Cruz Chica.

The accident, which happened around 12:30 p.m., highlights the risks faced by motorcyclists on mountain roads, where winding terrain and traffic require constant focus. Paramedics arrived quickly to treat the man, who suffered moderate injuries to his hand and shoulder. He was then taken to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for further care.

While medical crews assisted the motorcyclist, the Civil Guard managed traffic to prevent delays and began an investigation into the cause of the crash. The incident serves as a reminder to drive with extra caution on the island’s rural routes, particularly where sharp curves and steep inclines increase the risk of collisions.
