A 34-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized with moderate injuries following a crash on Tenerife’s TF-21 mountain road this Sunday.

Road safety on Tenerife’s mountain routes is back in the spotlight after a motorcycle accident on the TF-21 this Sunday. Emergency services reported that a 34-year-old man was hospitalized after falling from his bike at kilometer 29, near Los Realejos.

The incident was reported to the 112 Emergency Coordination Center at 12:32 p.m. The TF-21 is a popular route for motorcyclists due to its challenging, winding layout, but that same complexity makes it a frequent site for accidents. Red Cross volunteers were the first on the scene to stabilize the rider before a medical team from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) took over. The motorcyclist was then taken to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital with moderate injuries.

The Civil Guard attended the scene to manage traffic and has launched an investigation to determine exactly what happened. This accident serves as a reminder of the need for extreme caution on mountain roads, where the combination of sharp curves and changing conditions requires constant focus, even on clear days. The official police report will help clarify whether the crash was caused by external factors or a loss of vehicle control.
