Tenerife’s volleyball teams experienced a weekend of mixed fortunes that will shape the final stages of their national campaigns.

In the top-tier Liga Iberdrola, Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna secured their spot in the title playoffs after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Heidelberg Volkswagen. Playing at the Pablos Abril arena, Ricardo Lemos’s side showed great resilience; after falling behind in the first set, they tightened their defense and improved their attack to level the match. Despite losing the third set, the team kept their composure to force a tie-break, where captain Yeisy Soto led them to a crucial win.
