Spanish National Police have rescued a 25-year-old woman in Tenerife’s Anaga Massif after she had been missing for several days.

The National Police have successfully concluded a search operation in Tenerife’s Anaga Massif after finding a 25-year-old woman who had been missing since August 20. She was rescued from a ravine near El Bailadero, an area where steep terrain and frequent cloud cover often make emergency operations difficult and dangerous.

Authorities had classified the disappearance as "disturbing" from the start due to the woman’s urgent medical needs. This classification allowed police and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to quickly coordinate their efforts and prioritize the resources needed to address the immediate risk to her safety.

The search team successfully narrowed down the area using data from 112. Once on the ground, officers identified the woman’s voice coming from the dense vegetation. Because of the difficult terrain and her fragile health, the team decided to carry her out manually to the nearest road rather than wait for specialized technical units, ensuring she received help as quickly as possible.

After receiving initial medical treatment at the scene, the woman was taken to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital. The rescue highlights how vital rapid, coordinated action is when searching for vulnerable individuals in challenging natural environments.
