Miss Universe 2025 Fátima Bosch visited Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s city hall to promote the region's cultural heritage and strengthen its international tourism profile.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife boosted its international profile today as Miss Universe 2025, Fátima Bosch, paid an official visit to the city hall. The Mexican titleholder was welcomed by the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Caraballero, as part of the city’s ongoing effort to establish itself as a global hub for culture and tourism.
The meeting was also attended by the 2026 Carnival Queen, Carla Castro, and the 2026 May Festivities Queen, Elisa García. For local officials, the visit was more than just a formal ceremony; it served as a form of "soft diplomacy," using high-profile figures to promote the unique heritage of the Canary Islands.
During the visit, the group discussed Bosch’s experience since her coronation and explored the distinct flavors of the islands. Councilor Caraballero highlighted the historical significance of local staples like gofio, which the city is increasingly featuring in its tourism campaigns.
The conversation also touched on the history of the Miss Universe pageant, noting the shared connection to Ximena Navarrete, who won the title in 2010. The event concluded with the city gifting Bosch a pair of traditional Canarian argollas (earrings). By hosting the Miss Universe winner, the city hopes to strengthen its international ties and use her global platform to showcase the vibrant traditions that define the capital of Tenerife.
