The 6th Maneuver Helicopter Battalion will conduct scheduled military training exercises over Garachico, Tenerife, from September 7 to 11.
Military helicopters will be visible over the town of Garachico in Tenerife over the coming days as part of a scheduled training exercise. Local police have confirmed that the 6th Maneuver Helicopter Battalion (BHELMA VI) will be conducting operations in the area from September 7 to 11.
The training aims to help flight crews practice navigating and landing in challenging terrain. Two helicopters, models HU-21 and HU-18, will be used for these maneuvers, which are scheduled to take place during both the day and night.
These exercises are part of the military’s regular training cycle to ensure personnel remain prepared for transport, surveillance, and logistics missions. Residents may notice military aircraft flying at low altitudes and an increase in noise levels. Local authorities have shared this information in advance to reassure the public that these flights are routine and planned, ensuring the exercises can be carried out safely without causing unnecessary alarm.
