Metrotenerife will operate Tram Line 1 all night on New Year's Eve, featuring increased daytime frequency and a modified route from 11 PM.

Metrotenerife has announced that Tram Line 1 will run all night on New Year's Eve, from Wednesday, December 31st, into the early hours of Thursday, January 1st. During this overnight service, trams will come every 15 to 20 minutes.

From 11:00 PM on New Year's Eve, Line 1 will operate on a shorter route. Trams will start and end at the Teatro Guimerá stop, meaning the Fundación and Intercambiador de Santa Cruz stops will be temporarily out of service. This change is to avoid areas around Plaza de España and Iglesia de la Concepción, where New Year's celebrations will be taking place.

Earlier on New Year's Eve day (December 31st), Line 1 will run more frequently during busy times. Between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, trams will arrive every 6 minutes. After 3:00 PM, the wait time will increase to 7.5 minutes, and then to 10 minutes until 9:00 PM. From 9:00 PM until New Year's Day morning, the service will run continuously, with trams every 15 to 20 minutes.

For Line 2, trams will run every 12, 15, or 20 minutes throughout December 31st, with service ending at midnight.

On Thursday, January 1st (New Year's Day), Line 1 will return to its full route from 9:00 AM, with the Fundación and Intercambiador de Santa Cruz stops back in service. On New Year's Day, Line 1 will follow a holiday schedule, with trams running every 12, 15, or 30 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Metrotenerife also reminds passengers that tram services on December 31st and January 1st might be affected by ongoing worker strikes, which happen Monday to Friday. During these strike periods, at least 80% of normal services will still run on both Line 1 and Line 2.

For the latest updates, passengers should check Metrotenerife's official website and social media channels.
